November Art Exhibits Christine Tullson Mathieu | Main Exhibit Display Christine Tullson Mathieu is a contemporary plein air painter from Providence, Rhode Island. She exhibits her original oil and watercolor paintings throughout New England. Christine received a B.A. in Art Studio from the University of Rhode Island. She studied watercolor, fantasy illustration, and children’s book illustration at Rhode Island School of Design. She has participated in numerous juried exhibitions at several art associations, museums, and plein air festivals including: Providence Art Club, Newport Art Museum, Attleboro Art Museum, Ocean Park Plein Air, Castine Plein Air, and Blackstone Valley Plein Air. In November 2017 and 2019, Christine traveled to Bermuda to participate in her first international plein air events. Seeing life from a different perspective has changed how she views things. She likes to take abstract photographs that leave the viewer pondering their origin. Rather than seeing the whole, one is now often looking at a piece of it and seeing something entirely different. She also creates still life images of ocean-related objects, including sea glass, shells and driftwood. Her unique and colorful “painterly” photographs can be seen at numerous juried art exhibits and festivals throughout New England. She is also a participant in the West Bay Open Studios tour and the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly. View more of Nancy's work here
